Speed Up Data Entry with Smart Fields

One of the most powerful ways Ritchie can help you is by automatically suggesting content for your items. When you’re adding or editing an item, Ritchie can analyze the information you’ve already provided (like the item’s picture and name) to suggest relevant details.

How to Get Suggestions

This feature is available on the Add Item page and when editing an item.

  1. First, provide some initial context. The most important piece of context is the item’s picture. A clear photo gives Ritchie the most information to work with.
  2. Tap the main action button (with Ritchie’s face) to expand the menu.
  3. Tap the Smart Fields icon (it looks like a sparkling button).

Ritchie will analyze the item and, if successful, will populate relevant fields with suggestions.

Example: If you upload a picture of a leather satchel, Ritchie might suggest:

  • Description: “A brown leather satchel with brass buckles, suitable for historical productions.”
  • Tags: prop, satchel, leather, victorian

Accepting or Rejecting Suggestions

When Ritchie provides a suggestion for a field, you will see a distinct visual cue:

  • The field will have a glowing underline.
  • A set of icons will appear next to the field: a checkmark and an X.

You have three options:

  1. Accept: Click the checkmark icon. The suggestion will be saved as the field’s value, and the glow will disappear.
  2. Reject: Click the X icon. The suggestion will be discarded, and the field will revert to its previous value (or become empty).
  3. Edit: Simply start typing in the field. The suggestion will be cleared, and you can enter your own custom value.

Ritchie’s Tip: Smart Fields are designed to be a starting point. Feel free to accept a suggestion and then edit it to be more specific to your needs! It’s all about saving you time.
